Studio 3 investigated the role of architecture in times of crisis, positioning the civic centre as a site of resilience and inclusion. Through interviewing users, testing scenarios, and translating research into design, the studio reimagined civic infrastructures as adaptive platforms for engagement, care and transformation across everyday life and emergencies.
Year 4 projects focused on follies and transport hubs, prototyping inclusive circulation and resilient infrastructures. Their designs showed how small-scale interventions could sustain routines and empower communities during environmental, social and humanitarian challenges.
Year 5 developed civic centres and resilience hubs as living systems. By integrating programmes, structures and climate strategies, their projects created flexible spaces that mediated crisis and recovery while fostering participation and collective resilience.
